James Ferrari's profile

FPA - Encouraging Discourse on Foreign Policy

James Ferrari is the director and creative director of two media companies based in New York. Through this work, he focuses on artists whose work spurs social change and media projects related to social causes such as climate change, criminal justice reform, and controversial issues such as reproductive health. James Ferrari also engages with organizations such as the Foreign Policy Association, an organization that strives to bring awareness, understanding, and educated opinion to US foreign policy, in addition to global issues.

The Foreign Policy Association (FPA) provides nonpartisan programs and publications in order to encourage people to become more involved in foreign policy. FPA accomplishes its mission in three distinct ways: informing, engaging, and inspiring. In order to inform its audience, FPA provides public forums in New York City for foreign policy addresses that attract national and international audiences. Since its inception, FPA audiences have heard addresses by presidents such as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton. FPA also hosts annual meetings and the World Leadership Forum, giving its members a chance to engage in discourse about critical issues facing America.

In order to engage its members, FPA provides many programs and resources. For example, the organization publishes the Great Decisions briefing book annually, literature that provides background information and analyses on a number of key foreign policy issues. FPA also has a television series on PBS with the same name.

Last, FPA strives to inspire others to participate in foreign policy by creating programs such as the Global Career Boot Camp, which provides information and tools to individuals who are interested in foreign policy through specialized seminars and networking opportunities.
